Given the important constraints of the location for this operations building, the design has been optimized to significantly reduce power supply needs by enhancing natural ventilation and lighting. The objective is to lower both construction and operational costs.

A large roof provides shade and protection from heavy rains during the long rainy season while facilitating natural ventilation. A skylight runs the length of the building, allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the floor plan, which decreases reliance on electrical lighting. The structural design is focused on optimizing concrete materials while maintaining an open layout suitable for office use.

Este proyecto para las oficinas Transcorp en Lubumbashi combina un programa corporativo con alojamientos para huéspedes dentro de un conjunto compacto y deliberadamente hermético hacia el exterior. La arquitectura, construida íntegramente en hormigón visto, se presenta como un volumen masivo y ciego que protege su interior del entorno urbano.

Tras esa envolvente densa, una secuencia de patios de distintas escalas organiza la luz, la ventilación y las relaciones entre las piezas del programa. Estos vacíos articulan oficinas, áreas comunes y zonas residenciales, generando un interior luminoso, sereno y climáticamente eficiente que contrasta con la contundencia del perímetro.
